Turnips
The humble turnip has some big fans. Lauded for its utility by Pliny The Elder, it's been a reliable crop for centuries, and is even used as a decorative lantern during Halloween in Ireland! Its worldwide endurance isn't unwarranted either; we've seen it stir-fried, stewed, and pickled by chefs from Tokyo to Toronto!
