Apple Onion Bruschetta with Smoked Gouda

  • 2 sliced onions
  • 3 tbsp Calvados Brandy or Apple Jack
  • 1 baguette cut on bias, brushed with olive oil and lightly toasted
  • 2 Opal apples sliced thin, skin on
  • 1/4 lb smoked Gouda cheese, grated


  1. Cook onions in oil over medium heat until caramelized, 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add in Calvados and cook until evaporated.
  3. Spread on baguette slices, top with apple slices and sprinkle with grated cheese. Broil until cheese melts.
